FUTABA FED Displays

Futaba’s FED is a vacuum type display device using Spindt-type emitters as the electron source. The operating principle of an FED is the same as a cathode ray tube (CRT). For an FED, electrons emitted from the electron source hit the color phosphor to then emit light. Having the same general features of a CRT, an FED is an emissive display with a wide viewing angle and temperature range. Furthermore, Futaba’s FED can be as thin as 4.2mm and produces the same display quality as a CRT with lower power consumption and requires less space.
