Machine Design's Lee Teschler talks to Chief Designer Gary Braddock from Ford about designing the Lincoln C concept car. The Lincoln C concept brings Lincoln luxury and HMI (Human Machine Interface) to a smaller, C-sized footprint. Because the Lincoln C concept is two inches wider than conventional C-class vehicles, it offers the roominess of a 1961 Continental at almost half the length (and with style to spare). A life-like avatar is used to connect the driver to the vehicle and all the functionality offered through key systems such as Ford's signature HMI and SYNC. The Lincoln C concept also showcases Ford Motor Company's newest combination of fuel-efficient powertrain innovations: a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine mated to a dual-clutch PowerShift transmission.
